The US Ambassador to Uganda, H.E William W. Popp has visited Gulu University on 26th August, 2025. The Ambassador and his delegation paid courtesy to the Vice Chancellor of Gulu University Prof. George Ladaah Openjuru and members of top management before having a fruitful discussion with the university students’ Guild.

The discussions of the US Amb. H.E William W. Popp also focussed on US career opportunities including Fulbright scholarship program which offers international educational exchange allowing students, scholars and professionals to study, teach, and conduct research in the United State.

His Excellency Popp, implored the university to take interest in other collaborations beside the Fulbright Scholarship program and pledges the support of the U.S. Mission to Uganda in these collaborations.
Relatedly, Uganda Ambassador to Washington DC, H. E. Amb. Robie Kakonge was also at Gulu University from Monday 1st to Friday 5th September for the 2025 Ambassadors’ Conference.
H.E Kakonge was pleased with the current ongoing development and transformation at Gulu University.
