She noted that the workshop is part of Gulu University’s Community Engagement Strategy, which seeks to strengthen community order and promote a trusted, impartial and effective LC1 court system.
The training focuses on enhancing the capacity of LC1 chairpersons to manage local court proceedings in accordance with human rights standards, fairness and the principles of natural justice.
Through this initiative, Gulu University’s Faculty of Law seeks to bridge the gap between legal knowledge and community-level justice administration, ensuring that local leaders understand their responsibilities and exercise their authority within the framework of the law.
