The Procurement and Disposal Unit (PDU) is one of the Units under Central Administration that is charged with the responsibility of managing the day-to-day procurement and disposal activities of the University in accordance with the provisions of the PPDA Act, Regulations, and Guidelines.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Participating in the Annual Work Plan and Budgeting Process of the University
2. Consolidation of the Annual Procurement and Disposal Plan of the University.
3. Advising Management on Procurement and Disposal issues.
4. Preparing periodic progress reports for Procurement and Disposal activities.
5. Managing all Procurement and Disposal activities in accordance with the provisions of the PPDA Act,
Regulations and Guidelines.
6. Supporting the functioning of the Contracts Committee by making timely submissions.
7. Liaising directly with the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Authority (PPDA) on matters
within its jurisdiction.
8. Preparing monthly and quarterly Procurement and Disposal Reports for onward submission to PPDA.
9. Implementing Audit recommendations by PPDA and OAG
10. Implementing Contracts Committee decisions.
11. Acting as a Secretariat to the Contracts Committee
12. Managing Prequalification of Providers in accordance with the PPDA Regulations.
13. Ensuring proper archival of Procurement and Disposal records.
14. Providing guidance to end users on procurement and disposal procedures.
15. Arranging Procurement trainings for end users.
16. Any other duties as assigned by management.
In order to carry out its function the Unit is guided by the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act, the
Regulations and Guidelines.
