Press Release – Planned Black Monday

Gulu University Management has learnt of a planned Monday Boycott by some students over enforcement of the 2024 Tuition and Functional fees policies that allow only fully enrolled and registered students to access university facilities with implementation kicking off on Monday 11th November, 2024.

It is disheartening to note that some students have not enrolled since the academic year began in August even when enrollment is free of charge.

Management is also concerned about the number of students going through depression after losing their tuition to thieves or misusing it.

Some of the cases include the recent suicide committed by a year one student at Faculty of Education and Humanities on 1st October, 2024 after injecting all his tuition on mobile money business and his account got hacked by an unknown person.
