Gulu University Management led by the Vice Chancellor Prof. Openjuru L. George Receives ICT Network Equipment from Research Education Network for Uganda (RENU)
Research and Education Network for Uganda (RENU) has donated to Gulu University ICT Network Equipment worth UGX 60 Million to boost internet connectivity within Gulu University in the Faculty of Agriculture and Environment, Multifunctional Research Laboratories, and Gulu University New Library.
The Equipment was delivered by Brian Masiga the Head of Networks at RENU who represented the Chief Executive Officer of RENU at the function in the office of Gulu University Vice-Chancellor on the 14th September 2023.
Nyeko John the University Bursar said the donation is a big contribution towards the budget of Gulu University this Financial Year 2023/2024.
“This is a plus to our budget and we are grateful to RENU for this timely support that would support research, teaching, and learning at Gulu University”. Nyeko submitted.
Prof. Openjuru L. George the Vice-Chancellor of Gulu University said RENU has demonstrated a true spirit of partnership and said in the long term the support would make the planning for Open Distance, Electronic, and Lifelong Learning which is in the pipeline a big success.
“The traditional bricks and wall learning is steadily being phased out and the Electronic development is the way to go now”. Prof. Openjuru submitted.
The team after the function were guided by Perez Matsiko the Gulu University Chief ICT to the ground near the Old Library where RENU was enrolling both students and staff on Eduroam applications for the Internet.
