Gulu University kicks off freshers’ orientation

Gulu University has kicked off Freshers’ Orientation week with massive turnout of new students on Day 1 as the new Academic year begins. The orientation commenced on Monday 10th August, 2026 from the university Main campus bringing together university management, staff, 25th Guild leaders and the incoming freshmen and women.

Over 6,926 students were already admitted as of 10/08/2026 and the number is expected to rise as Admissions desk under office of the Academic Registrar clears off mop up and appeal admission lists.

The orientation is meant to introduce newly admitted students to university life, campus services, academic regulations and student leadership activities. The high participation on day one reflects strong commitment among incoming students and sets positive tone for the full orientation week which runs up to Saturday 15th August, 2026.

The week-long program ensures that by the end of the orientation, freshmen are well-prepared and informed as they begin their academic journey at Gulu University. We congratulate all the newly admitted students on joining Gulu University. This marks the beginning of a transformative academic journey for them.

Congratulations to all the newly admitted students. A well-organized orientation is important because it helps students understand not only academic requirements but also the digital platforms and services they will rely on throughout their university journey. With universities increasingly providing information, applications, learning resources and student services online, having accessible and user-friendly digital platforms is becoming essential. Kico Web Design appreciates initiatives that continue to strengthen digital access and improve online experiences for students and institutions.
