Dr. Gloria Lamaro is an accomplished Education Training Consultant with extensive expertise in curriculum development, academic staff training, and faculty capacity building in higher education across East Africa. She has significantly contributed to the transformation of teaching and learning through her involvement in major initiatives such as the Transforming Employability for Social Change in East Africa (TESCEA) and the Transformative Academic Development (TAD) projects.
Her work focuses on course and curriculum redesign to promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and student-centered learning equipping graduates to become agents of social change.
Dr. Lamaro has also led training for lecturers as Trainers of Trainers (ToTs) in academic development, helping to build sustainable institutional capacity in pedagogy and curriculum innovation. Currently, she collaborates with academic staff globally through the Transforming Learning Partnership, while continuing her close engagement with faculty at Gulu University (Uganda) to support curriculum review, teaching quality enhancement, and student learning experience improvement. In addition, Dr. Lamaro is committed to advancing higher education by designing transformative capacity-building programs and supporting the establishment of formal academic qualifications for university teaching staff in Uganda. Her work also promotes the integration of inclusive, contextually relevant, and evidence-based teaching practices. Dr. Lamaro’s academic and professional contributions are widely recognized. In 2025, she received the Exceptional PhD Completion Award in recognition of her outstanding academic achievement and lasting impact in the field of education.
