Duties & Responsibilities
Directorate of Quality Assurance functions as the Vice Chancellor’s secretariate on quality matters and advices the University Council through the Council subcommittee on Quality Assurance, Senate and all other administrative units of the university. Specifically, the unit ensures that all university activities and processes are “fit for purpose” and meet national, regional and international standards. To do this, the unit uses guidelines, instruments and frameworks developed by national and regional regulatory bodies, like the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE), the Interuniversity Council for East Africa (IUCEA) to guide its internal processes. The unit also participates in quality assurance organs like the Ugandan Universities’ Quality Assurance Forum (UUQAF) and East African Quality Assurance Network (EAQAN).
