Key Duties and Responsibilities
Lecturer:
1. Lecturing of undergraduate students.
2. Setting and supervising of semester examinations.
3. Marking of course work, tests and end of semester examinations
4. Supervising students research work.
5. Supervising school practice.
6. Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the University.

Acting Head of Department Religious Studies and Philosophy:
1. Supervise and delegate work for all staff within the department.
2. Provide mentoring to staff members to offer support and guidance towards excellence in teaching, service and scholarly activities.
3. Facilitate pursuit of professional development and research activities for department.
4. Develop the schedule of courses and communicate those to the staff, students and the faculty wherever and however they are delivered in each semester.
5. Provide appropriate opportunities and forums for staff to express ideas freely, have productive discussions and participate in departmental affairs and meetings.
6. In case of need, draft approval and other letters and carry orientation of new staff in the department.
7. Evaluate all staff on a continuing basis with appropriate recommendations for professional development in any deficient areas highlighting strengths and areas that need improvement.
8. Make informed, documented recommendations concerning department e.g Ensure programs meet any professional accreditation standards or otherwise strive to follow best practices for the academic discipline.
9. Initiate, review and oversee all study programs and curriculum in the department.
10. Advocate for the department, facilitate communication between department and faculty board and other levels of administration.

  3. The place of the second wife in traditional Africa: a critical appraisal of the philosophy of marriage of Acholi society
  4. Mentorship and teacher’s effectiveness in secondary schools, a comparative analysis of Government-aided and private secondary schools in Gulu city council
