The department is mandated to conduct teaching, research, and outreach in areas related to the rural economy, farm management, agricultural marketing and cooperatives, agricultural policy, agribusiness, and agricultural extension. It hosts the Bachelor of Science in Agri-Entrepreneurship and Communication Management, and MSc in Agro-Enterprises Development programmes.
