Dr. Nansikombi Nulu
Food scientist (PhD, MSc & BSc, (Mak)
Nulu is a Lecturer in the Department of Department of Food science and Postharvest Technology, Faculty of agriculture and Environment, Gulu University. She has a PhD (2021), MSc. (2010) and BSc. (2005) all in Food Science and Technology from Makerere University.
She is involved in the training and supervision of students. She is passionate about community engagements especially in agro-processing. She served as a Trainer under the Uganda Manufacturers’ Association project ‘Tamteco tea companies towards ISO certification, specifically Kiamara and Toro Kahuna tea companies,’ funded by Centre for Development of Enterprises, Brussels-Belgium
She also worked on ‘Harnessing the commercial potential of indigenous malted and fermented cereal beverages,’ a BIOEARN project (now Bio-innovate), Department of Food Technology and Nutrition), Makerere University, Uganda

Research Interests

Nulu has special interest in research aligned towards utilization, bioactivity and safety of neglected crops. She looks forward to engaging communities tap into the utilization of neglected crops for nutritional diversity and improved livelihood of the vulnerable communities.
