Jimmy Alani holds a Bachelor of Science in Statistics Degree from Makerere University, a Master of Arts in Economic Policy and Planning from Makerere University and a Master of Arts in International Political Economy Degree from Tsukuba University in Japan. He is expected to obtain a PhD in Economics from Makerere University early next year. Jimmy Alani practiced economic policy and planning with Ministry of Planning and Economic Development from 1990 to 2001. As an economist he worked with Ministry of Transport and Communications and Lira District. He has published works on economic growth, education, human capital, and Technology. He joined Gulu University as a Lecturer in Economics on September 1, 2003. was elevated to position of Senior Lecturer in December 2013. His research interest is in macroeconomics. microeconomics and economic growth.
