Background
She joined Gulu University in the year 2005 as a Stenographer Secretary and was elevated to Administrative Secretary in April, 2012. Aber was one of the female staff identified by Management to kick-start Kitgum Campus in 2011/2012 Academic Year where she was given additional duty assignment to carry out the work of Assistant Registrar II. In the year 2015 she was transferred from Kitgum Campus to Institute of Peace and Strategic Studies where she was given another additional duty assignment as Assistant Registrar II. In 2017 she was assigned Caretaker Assistant Registrar II in the Faculty of Agriculture and Environment and later redesignated as Assistant Registrar II. She is currently the Assistant Academic Registrar at the Faculty of Law.
Qualification:
Aber Jacqueline Okidi holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Planning, Management and Administration (EPMA) from Gulu University 2017. and Bachelor Degree in Business Education of Gulu University 2010.
Responsibility:
Assist the Dean in offering and preparation for admission, registration, maintenance of student’s database in consultation with the Dean and Academic Registrar’s Office.
Liaise with Heads of Departments and assist the Dean to prepare teaching and examinations time tables
Assist the Dean in organisation, coordination, management of examinations in the faculty.
Assist the Dean in the production of examinations results for presentation to Quality Assurance and Time Table Committee and finally to Senate.
Assist the Dean in the organisation of faculty board and preparations of the minutes.
Provide support and guidance to the faculty in planning, organisation and management of activities related to students’ registration and academic records.
Assist the Academic Registrar in issuing academic transcripts to graduates from the faculty following approved guideline and also to keep in touch with the office of Academic Registrar so as to be familiar with the policies of the University.
Any other duties assigned from time to time.
