Gulu University Vice-Chancellor Leads Delegation to 21st RUFORUM AGM in Botswana
Gulu University Vice-Chancellor, Prof. George Ladaah Openjuru, is leading a team from the University at the 21st RUFORUM Annual General Meeting (AGM) taking place at the Gaborone International Conference Centre in Botswana.
The University delegation includes Obol David Otori, the University Secretary; Nyeko John, the University Bursar; Prof. Duncan Ongeng, the Coordinator of TAGDev 2.0 at Gulu University; among other officials.
On Monday, 1 December 2025, Hon. Prince Maele, Botswana’s Minister of Higher Education, officially opened the meeting, declaring that the country is open for impactful partnership and transformation.
This year’s AGM is held under the theme: “Positioning Africa’s Universities and the Higher Education Sector to Effectively Impact Development Processes on the Continent.”
The event, which began on 24 November 2025, featured a series of capacity-building training and mentorship sessions that targeted Communication Officers, Monitoring and Evaluation Officers, Program Associates, and Finance Officers from RUFORUM partner institutions.
More than 40 countries are represented at the meeting, highlighting the growing strength and diversity of the RUFORUM network.
