More Information
Ms. Kansiime joined GUREC as a Member in 2015 and was elected as Secretary from 2017, a position she held until September 2023. She is Social Scientist focusing on management of Civil Society Organisations and alternative initiatives to community development. She is a Lecturer in the Faculty of Business and Development Studies under the Department of Public Administration and Management, where she served as Head of Department from 2017-2021. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and Social Administration (BSWSA) with a First Class in 2005 from Makerere University and a Master’s degree in Development Studies specializing in Politics of Alternative Development in 2010 from the Institute of Social Studies of the Erasmus University of Rotterdam. She has been offered a VC’s Studentship at Liverpool John Moore University to pursue her PhD Studies starting in 2024 focusing on “Decolonising Management Knowledge and Practice: Learning from and with the Global South”.
Over the past 10 years, Ms Kansiime has worked closely as a consultant with a number of civil society organisations in northern Uganda focusing on needs assessment, mid-term and end of project evaluations to inform programming and performance measurement of projects and training staff and partners in management systems such as strategic management. She has also co-authored four articles with one as the lead author in the areas of community development and civil Society organisation management. She has co-supervised at least 10 Master students to completion and several undergraduate studies. Ms. Kansiime has participated in several research related trainings at the Gulu University and as personal initiatives in addition to conferences, seminars and workshops.
