Dr. Ofoyoru Denis Thaddeus
Senior Lecturer
Dr. Ofoyuru Denis Thaddeus is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Educational Management at Gulu University where he is the Dean, Faculty of Education and Humanities. As a Dean, he is involved in a number of Committees such as Senate, Committee of Deans, Chiefs and Academic Programmes, Quality Assurance, Examinations and Time Table Committee, and Admissions Board. He also chairs the Faculty Board and Higher Degrees Committee of the Faculty, and oversees the School Practice Committee. He is a member in a number of Doctoral Committees for PhD students.
His research interest is in basic education and higher education. He has reviewed manuscripts for regular and special issues journals in the global north and well as global south, and is an external examiner for local and foreign universities. He teaches courses in educational management, scholarly writing and publishing, and research methods. He was the Principal Investigator for a longitudinal research project on quality of learning environments and learning outcomes in primary schools in Gulu District between from 2013 to 2017, funded by the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD) through Save the Children International. He is also the Principal Investigator for the project which investigated the transition of learners from primary to secondary schools in Gulu District with support of the Afri-Child Centre.
He has carried out a number of community service activities including training, membership to Committees and Boards in Primary Schools outside the University. He has mentored a number of students and staff academically, administratively and careerwise. He is currently the Chairperson/President, Parents Teachers Association at UNIFAT Nursery and Primary School, in Gulu City, Northern Uganda.
