Dr. Biryomumeisho Justus

Senior Lecturer


Dr. Biryomumeisho Justus is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Accounting and Finance at Gulu University, Uganda. He earned his Ph.D. in Business Administration from Gulu University in 2019, specializing in finance and corporate governance. With over twenty-five years of teaching and multidisciplinary work experience, Dr. Biryomumeisho currently teaches taxation, investment analysis and portfolio management, corporate finance, investment theory and practice, monetary policy and portfolio management, and financial markets in both undergraduate and graduate classes. He has supervised over 30 MBA students to completion. He is currently supervising 7 PhD students at different levels of completion. He has been (and continues to be) an external examiner for Makerere University Business School (MUBS) and Lira University.

Dr. Biryomumeisho also served in the faculty of Business and Development Studies in various capacities including Acting Dean and Deputy Dean in the period 2014 – 2023. He actively participated in many academic programme reviews currently accredited in the faculty that led to the establishment of Master of Science in Finance and Master of Science Economics. Prior to joining Gulu University in 2005, Dr. Biryomumeisho worked as a Senior Revenue Officer in the Uganda Revenue Authority.

He is a reviewer in a couple of peer-reviewed international journals. Among his publications, is a co-authored book titled “Cost & Management Accounting” sponsored and published by the Institute of Public Accountants of Uganda in 2023.
