Advocate of the High Court of Uganda with interest in Public International Law (Human Rights Law) and Critical Legal Studies. A Lecturer of law and Researcher at Gulu University in Uganda. Formerly, a Senior Lecturer/ Researcher at Kampala International University. The Director of Governance, Voice and Accountability at GLOFORD, Uganda. Served as the Dean of the Faculty of Law, International University of East Africa. Chair for Advocacy and Policy Initiatives at Doctoral Network Uganda. Served as Senior Research and Advocacy Officer at Foundation for Human Rights Initiative. Also served as Senior Lecturer and Researcher at the Nelson Mandela School of Law, University of Fort Hare. Holds a doctoral degree in law (LLD) from the University of the Western Cape. Has published expansively on human rights law, health and law, gender and the law and socioeconomic rights. Worked at the Faculty of Law, University of the Western Cape, War Child Canada /Legal Aid Project of the Uganda Law Society, the Uganda Human Rights Commission, Refugee Law Project and Tororo Civil Society Network. Served several research awards including: the Africa Fellowship Award at the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands, the South African National Research Foundation scholarship award, the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation scholarship award, the International Development Research Centre/Global Health Research Initiative at the University of Ottawa and an award of the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Canada at the University of Alberta. A former scholar of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) at the University of Pretoria. Member of the International AIDS Society, a member of the Association of Women in Development, a member of the Expert Panel, AIDS Accountability International (AAI) and a member of the Uganda Feminist Forum. Worked in a consultative capacity for the Department of Justice, South Africa and the Social Law Project of the University of the Western Cape. Received an Achievers Award of the International University of East Africa in 2019.
