In her pursuit of knowledge and expertise, Akumu is currently engrossed in her Doctoral studies, where she intends to explore the intricate realms of Business and Management. Specifically, she aims to investigate and analyze the impact of the Parish Development Model on local economies and businesses. By studying various parishes’ developmental initiatives and strategies, she intends to assess its effectiveness in fostering economic growth, entrepreneurial activities, and wel-being of particularly, the Women. With her keen intellectual and practical research, she aspires to unveil valuable insights that will benefit the academic and professional community.
Before embarking on her Doctoral journey, Akumu served as a Research Administrative Assistant with Primary Healthcare Project (PHC) for five (5) years under Faculty of Medicine, in Gulu University. In this role, she actively participated in organizing, coordinating, and executing research projects aimed at enhancing primary healthcare practices. Her meticulous approach to data analysis and report preparation played a vital role in the project’s success. Currently, as an Administrative Secretary at the Institute of Research and Graduate Studies, she effectively manages administrative tasks, ensuring seamless operations and supporting various research endeavors and academic programs. Her organizational abilities and effective communication skills have been instrumental in fostering a conducive environment for scholarly pursuits.
