ADVERT/ANNOUNCEMENT FOR SHORT COURSE TRAINING
Gulu University, Faculty of Agriculture and Environment in Partnership with AVSI Foundation are implementing a Skilling Project named: “Skilling in Agriprenuership for Increased YouthEmployment (SAY) Project”. The SAY Project is funded Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (EKN). The project seeks to contribute to increased Agri-skills level and gainful employment of youth in the agriculture sector in Uganda.
Applications are invited from eligible youth to be enrolled for training in various enterprises/trades. The training is a short course that will run for a period of three (3) months from September to November 2023. At the end of the training, the candidates will undergo a modular assessment by the Directorate of Industrial Training (DIT), Ministry of Education and Sports, and ultimately be awarded certificates in the enterprise/trade of choice.
There are 200 slots available in total (100 slots for female candidates and 100 slots for male candidates), distributed as follows:
i) 160 candidates will be registered students of Gulu University
ii) 40 candidates will be registered from the community
Eligibility/Requirement for Registration
1) Be between 18 – 30 years old at the time of applying.
2) Be a final year or semi-finalist student of Gulu University and, or a member from the community with at least a Senior Four Certificate (UCE).
3) Present a recommendation letter from the area LC I (for applicants who are not students of Gulu University)
4) Pay the total fee of 100,000/= or at least 50,000/= initial installment for DIT Modular Assesement at the time of submitting an application.
Enterprises/Modules
In the table below are the enterprises you may choose from to apply for. Only one choice is allowed:

| NB: Cross-cutting training in Business, Life, and Soft Skills will apply to all students during the training. | ||

Registration is on the basis of first come, first register. The deadline for registration is Friday 08th September, 2023 at 5:00 pm and training commences on 11th September, 2023.
