The BBE programme intends to prepare professionals to teach business subjects and business related subjects in secondary schools, colleges and universities. The programme empowers the learners with the intellectual ability teach students at Secondary and tertiary levels to handle the continuous changes in the global market.

Entry Requirements

A principal pass in Economics or Entrepreneurship Education and in any one of the remaining A’ Level Principal subjects obtained at the same sitting. One should have obtained at least credit in Mathematics at O’Level.

The BBE programme shall normally extend over a period of three years. Each year shall consist of two semesters. A semester shall consist of 17 weeks – 15 weeks for teaching and 2 weeks for examinations.

The programme shall consist of full-time study of lectures, practical and School practice, continuous assessment assignments or tests, semester examinations and a research paper to be presented in the second semester of the third year. Faculty of Education and Humanities shall use the credit hour system in determining course value toward degree requirements. Under this system, a theory course covering one hour each week for one semester is worth one credit hour (or one semester hour of credit) toward graduation. A practical course that covers two hours each week for one semester is also worth one credit hour.

Recess Terms for year two (2) and year three (3) students are used for school practice, which will be conducted in secondary schools, tertiary institutions and teachers colleges. Bachelor of Business Education programme exposes students to three areas of study, namely:
1). Academic Studies of content areas of teaching subjects.
2). Professional Studies of the theory, practice and development of education, and
3). Supervised Practice to provide training in the practice, service and development of Education.
