Prof. Openjuru opens Roco-Paco Gulu University Chapter
The Vice Chancellor of Gulu University, Prof. George Ladaah Openjuru has officially opened Roco-Paco Gulu University Chapter.
This chapter opened on 12th June from the University New Library was attended by professors, staff of Gulu University and other senior citizens in the region.
The chapter will focus more on improving education in Acholi sub-region in line with the objectives of the main Roco-Paco Initiatives being spearheaded by Chief Justice Owiny Dollo and Ambassador Dr. Olara Otunnu.
Roco-Paco is an initiative focused on social and economic development in the Acholi sub-region, with a particular emphasis on education and cultural preservation.
The initiative fosters community engagement through sensitization meetings and other outreach activities which is in line with the Gulu University motto “For Community Transformation.”
Key objectives of the initiatives are to undertake the rebuilding of the Acoli society, following a massive societal collapse, re-inculcate the fundamentals of Acoli society, particularly its time-honoured morals and values, and to revive solidarity, trust, mutual support and commitment to the ‘common good.’
