Gulu University to Host 16th Higher Education Exhibition in March

Gulu University had the honour of receiving a delegation from the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE), who visited to evaluate its preparedness to host the upcoming Higher Education Week scheduled for March 2026.
The Wednesday 25th February 2026 visit marked a significant milestone in the University’s journey towards hosting this national event which will run under the theme “Harnessing Innovations in Higher Education for Accelerated Economic Transformation.” The evaluation focused on site readiness, logistical planning, and coordination mechanisms to ensure a successful and impactful celebration.
The NCHE delegation was warmly welcomed by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Davy David Okello Owiny, who expressed the University’s gratitude for the opportunity to host the event.
He assured the team of the University’s full commitment to collaboration, meticulous planning, and the establishment of a dedicated organizing team to support all activities and guests throughout the Higher Education Week.
The celebrations will commence with the 7th Annual Higher Education Conference, scheduled for 23rd–24th March 2026 at Acholi Inn Hotel in Gulu and attendance at the conference will be by registration.
The conference aims to provide a multi-stakeholder platform for dialogue, knowledge exchange, and strategic collaboration, strengthening the role of Higher Education Institutions in driving innovation-led economic transformation.
Following the conference, the 16th Higher Education Exhibition will take place from 26th–28th March 2026 at the Gulu University Sports Ground. The exhibition will showcase innovations, research outputs, and transformative initiatives from higher education institutions across the country.
As host of this prestigious national event, Gulu University is poised to demonstrate its leadership in advancing innovation, fostering partnerships, and contributing to Uganda’s accelerated economic transformation through higher education.
