Prof. George Ladaah Openjuru, the Vice Chancellor of Gulu University while welcoming the ambassadors said their presence is of great significance in strengthening relationships and collaborations between the university and government.
“It is both an honor and a privilege to host this year’s ambassadors conference. Your presence here signifies a commitment in collaboration, innovation and diplomacy which are essential in addressing global challenges,” VC Openjuru said.
The VC appreciated the good work of the ambassadors in peace and security and urged them to use their positions to influence global connections between Gulu University which stands tall in its motto “For Community Transformation” and the rest of the world in areas of research, innovations and technology.
“Our commitment to research and university community engagement is internationally recognized. It ensures that our academic pursuits are responsible to the needs of society and through these international collaborations, we develop ideas for the good of the university”

Bagiire Vincent Waiswa, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, appreciated Gulu University for accepting to host this year’s Ambassadors Conference and for his able leadership that enabled the university to experience the growth and development it has now.
“Allow me in a very special way to thank the vice chancellor for hosting us at Gulu University and also congratulate him and his team for the achievements they have made in progressing this university” PS Bagiire said.

The Chief Coordinator of Operation Wealth Creation (OWC), Gen. Salim Saleh, while delivering his address called upon the ambassadors to work hard towards advancing the Musevonomic principles which stands on social economic transformation, peace and security among others to the to the outside world.
He emphasized that understanding Musevenomic Principles and the logic behind Museveni’s transformative economic agenda will enable the heads of mission to sell what they know to the rest of the world about Uganda.

Henry Okello Oryem, the minister of state for foreign affairs, who reveals how he championed the establishment of Gulu University while he was still at the Ministry of Education and Sports expresses his excitement at the progress made by the university over the past years since its establishment two decades ago.

Gen. Jeje Odongo, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, applauded the ambassadors and Heads of Mission for their tremendous work in peace and security. He however, urged them to re-strategize in handling ten insecurity in Sudan, DRC, and South Sudan.
