Gulu University and Astria Learning Forge Strategic Partnership to Advance Online and Postgraduate Education in Africa


The meeting commenced with a courtesy call on the Vice Chancellor of Gulu University, Professor George Openjuru on the 3rd, November 2025 where discussions centered on opportunities for partnership within Gulu City and other areas of institutional development, including strategies to increase student enrollment.
During the meeting, Dr. Jeff Bordes, Chief Executive Officer of Astria Learning, expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome to Uganda’s northern region. He highlighted Astria Learning’s commitment as a strategic partnership designed to transform postgraduate education and scale research capacity across Africa through cutting-edge AI technology and innovative delivery models. According to Dr. Bordes, partnering with Gulu University provides a strong foundation for bridging the educational gap across the continent

In his remarks, Professor George Openjuru, Vice Chancellor of Gulu University, welcomed the partnership with enthusiasm. Professor Openjuru added that the partnership will not only enhance digital learning infrastructure but also significantly increase the university’s student population by offering flexible, accessible education to learners across Africa.
