Public Lecture : Advances in Plasma Science
- 2:00 pm
- Gulu University Main Hall
Abstract
Plasma, often called the fourth state of matter, accounts for approximately 99% of the normal matter in the universe and underpins a wide range of emerging technologies with the potential to transform society. This lecture introduces the fundamentals of plasma and highlights its rapidly expanding applications in clean energy, medicine, agriculture, and environmental sustainability. In addition, the lecture focuses on plasma-based hydrogen production from solid waste and plasma-assisted fertilizer production, demonstrating how plasma can help address global challenges in energy security, waste management, and sustainable food production. The lecture aims to raise awareness of plasma science, inspire innovation, and foster interdisciplinary collaboration among students, researchers, academics, entrepreneurs, and members of the general public
