Bridging the Gap: Kyambogo and Gulu Universities to Host AgriFoSe2030 Science to Policy Training
In a strategic move to turn academic research into tangible community impact, the Kyambogo University Regional AgriFoSe2030 Hub, in collaboration with Gulu University, is set to host a high-level workshop titled “Translating Science into Policy and Practice.”
Running from February 17th to 19th, 2026, the three-day intensive programme will gather bright young scientists at Gulu University.
Supported by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), this initiative is a partnership between the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), Kyambogo, and Gulu University that is aimed at changing the narrative.
The training is designed to equip researchers with the tools to: Simplify complex data by communicating evidence clearly to non specialist policymakers and practitioners and also Influence Policy by Understanding the mechanics of how research can inform national and regional decisions.
The AgriFoSe2030 Programme seeks to ensure that agricultural science doesn’t just end in a published paper but leads to better food security and sustainable practices across Uganda and beyond.
