Dr. Geoffrey Moses Owot

Godfrey Moses Owot (PhD) is the Deputy Dean Faculty of Business and Development Studies. He rose from the position of a Teaching Assistant in 2008 to a Lecturer of Economics and Statistics in 2015 in Gulu University; specializing in Econometric modeling with a vested research interest in agricultural economics particularly relational marketing which is an area of his PhD project. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Quantitative Economics and Master Degree in Quantitative economics from Gulu and Makerere University respectively. Godfrey is a professional research consultant with more than 10 years of experience in base line, midterm and end line evaluations.
He has provided over 10 consultancy services to more than 5 Non-governmental organizations working in Northern Uganda especially to those handling agribusiness related projects. As a scholar, he has authored 3 journal articles and co-authored 2 peer reviewed papers. He is recognized for his outstanding contribution in the curriculum design of 3 post graduate and graduate programme in the Department of Economics and Statistics including contribution to community in terms of conflict resolutions.
He is a former head of department of Economics and Statistics, the pass care taker Dean Faculty of business and development studies in 2018 and the current Deputy Dean of the same faculty. On the religious front, he is the current chair of St. Paul Chapel Gulu University Anglican community and the vice chairperson of construction committee. Godfrey also participated in the politic of Uganda as a youth councilor representing Gulu municipal council (2001-2004).
