The Faculty of Medicine (FoM) at Gulu University was established in 2004 with the aim of improving access of the people in the region to University education as well as improving access to health care. The pioneer students have now completed and graduated.
Since its establishment, the Faculty of Medicine has progressed steadily and a new block of lecture rooms and offices has been constructed, with lectures ongoing.

Academic Programs

The main academic programme at the Faculty has been the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB).
It is implemented using the traditional medical education model. Methods of instruction include compulsory lectures followed by practicals in preclinical years, or clinical clerkships under supervision by clinicians on the various wards at Gulu Regional Referral Hospital (GRRH) or Lacor Hospital (LH), and fieldwork during the fourth year of instruction.
